IMPORTANT: you should be living within the RIPE NCC service region, ideally in the Netherlands

At the RIPE NCC, community development and engagement are at the heart of our mission. With a service region spanning more than 70 countries, we are committed to building strong, inclusive, and sustainable communities that support the Internet’s resilience and growth. To strengthen this effort, we are seeking a Manager for the Community Development team, who can establish a long-term vision for how we engage with diverse communities across cultures, languages, and needs, while ensuring the effective delivery of our programs, and partnerships.

Our ideal candidate is someone who sees the big picture of how engagement and development can evolve in the coming years, but also knows how to translate that vision into tangible results. This person should be a skilled leader of highly capable professionals, able to bring together individuals working on multiple projects, activities, and scopes, and align them towards shared goals and clear outcomes.

🧠 What You Will Be Doing:

  • Set the vision and tactics for engagement with our membership and RIPE community across more than 70 countries, ensuring our activities remain inclusive, impactful, and aligned with long-term organisational goals.

  • Lead and support a highly skilled team working on diverse projects and activities at both regional and national levels. These include academic outreach, partnerships and sponsorships, Internet measurement initiatives, promotion and deployment of data services, and fellowship programmes. Your role will be to align these efforts under shared objectives, foster collaboration across projects, and ensure delivery of measurable outcomes that strengthen our community’s engagement and impact.

  • Collaborate across teams such as Communications, Web Services, and Events to oversee the delivery of our flagship activities. This includes RIPE Meetings, regional meetings (MENOG, CAPIF, SEE), and national-level engagements like RIPE NCC Days and Internet Measurement Days. You will ensure these activities are well-coordinated, strategically aligned, and impactful, creating meaningful spaces for the community to connect, share expertise, and shape the future of the Internet.

  • Develop and manage sponsorships and partnerships to support our events, promote our data services and Internet measurement platforms (such as RIPE Atlas, RIS, K-root, and AuthDNS), and support community initiatives. You will identify opportunities for collaboration, build relationships with external stakeholders, and ensure that partnerships are aligned with our mission and deliver value to both the RIPE NCC and the wider Internet community.
