Hybrid: From our office at Amsterdam Central Station and from home

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Between EUR 41.000 - 52.000 plus excellent secondary benefits (see below)

As a Junior Financial Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting our finance department, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable and month-end closing processes. In this role you will:

  • Work with the account receivable teams by invoicing our members, invoicing for sponsorships and events and keeping the accounts receivable admin up-to-date

  • Monitor reimbursement claims via our expense management system (Nexonia)

  • Handle debtor-related inquiries through our internal ticketing system (Zendesk)

  • Ensure that our debtor administration accurately reflects our financial position

  • Collaborate with accounts payable, processing invoices, monitoring their approval to ensure timely payment and ensure our creditor admin reflects a true and fair view

  • Support weekly payments

  • Support the financial month-end closing

  • Import, book and reconcile daily bank transactions

Job requirements

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Finance and Control, International Business Studies, Finance Tax and Advice, Accounting, or relevant field

  • 1 or 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Expertise working with Excel

  • Experience working with AFAS is a plus

  • A positive and proactive attitude, with willingness to create and execute new ideas

  • Curious and interested in constant learning, supported by our yearly education budget (see Benefits)

  • Availability to start your day early during the months of February and March to process the large amount of incoming bank transactions from that period

  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Dutch is a plus (the desire to learn Dutch will be highly appreciated as some processes require it).

The department

The Finance Team consists of a multinational and diverse team of eight people with different nationalities and backgrounds. The main spoken languages are English and Dutch. All written communication is in English.

👉 What do you like the most about working at the RIPE NCC?
I really like working in the RIPE NCC’s office. It’s centrally situated in Amsterdam, at a convenient and accessible location. We work in a diverse international environment which encourages collaboration and cultural interchange among staff. I feel like our company has a very friendly atmosphere, where colleagues are approachable and supportive.

👉 How would you describe your team and the way you work together?
Our team consists of highly skilled colleagues that are equally adept at both traditional accounting practices and the development of forward-thinking, future-proof financial processes. We are driven by motivation and we have a dynamic and proactive approach to our work. We work for the good of the Internet!

👉 What does a typical day in your role look like?
My usual working day is highly structured, organised around specific tasks and focused on accounting duties. However, despite the fact that I work within established processes, I also have room for innovation and exploration of new ideas. This balance allows me to maintain efficiency in my work while remaining open to new developments in the financial field.
