Hybrid: From home and our office at Amsterdam Central Station

Total salary: 49.000 - 62.000 (before taxes including allowances) plus excellent secondary benefits (see below)

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week (working part-time is also possible) 

IMPORTANT: you should be living in the Netherlands 

We are looking for a talented Marketing and Communications Officer who can help us promote our tools and services through a targeted social media presence and engaging events. 

The RIPE NCC’s Communications and Marketing Department is an international team of eight sharp professionals who work well together and like to have fun. We support our talented engineering colleagues across the company who run important technical infrastructure and services that are important to Internet stability. We also provide secretariat support to the Internet engineering community within our region (RIPE) and run projects that support the RIPE NCC’s wider goals, including the publication of various corporate governance documents like our Activity Plan and Annual Report.

Our ideal candidate has been working in a relevant field for 2-4 years and brings a lot of energy and creativity to what they do. We are looking for someone who is very hands-on and can take charge of our social media presence, running campaigns that make a measurable impact. You should be capable of working independently and seeing projects through to completion. 

🧠 In this role, you will:

  • Managing our social media presence and developing campaigns to promote our events and services 

  • Copywriting and text support - ranging from web pages to long reports

  • Supporting other departments internally with marketing and communications plans and contributing to strategy development 

  • Developing branded templates and materials 

  • Overseeing the production of videos and podcasts 

  • Supporting our events in person across Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia

We would also appreciate: 

  • Hands-on experience with creating multimedia content 

  • Experience running ad campaigns on social media 

  • A strong affinity for writing 

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for making meaningful content with real impact

  • An excellent non-contributory pension scheme. We pay for the whole premium while most of the organisations in the Netherlands ask the employee for some contribution

  • A generous education budget, €2.250 per year so you can keep learning and developing your skills

  • Dutch language lessons for international colleagues. If we relocate you with your partner, we also offer this for your partner 

  • An annual health budget of €750 gross that you can spend on sport classes, a mindfulness course, chair massage, etc

  • An annual budget of €1.600 gross for your Internet connectivity and technology at home

  • When travelling with public transport, your transportation costs will be covered by a first-class train ticket to our Amsterdam office and/or KM allowance.

  • An additional annual transportation budget of €500 gross that you can use for example on a bike or GVB card

  • A sport hour per week, for doing sports or fitness during work hours

  • Home office furniture budget for a healthy, ARBO proof work setup at home.

  • Organisation-wide internal training program designed to develop critical soft skills—like feedback, resilience, and leadership—giving you the tools to excel in your career and beyond.

  • An in-house free barista providing healthy varied lunches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and nice breakfasts on Thursdays, plus monthly office social events.

  • Casual team events such as team outings, annual Christmas party and summer BBQ.
