Hybrid: From home and our office at Amsterdam Central Station
Total Salary: Between EUR 65,000 and EUR 80,000 (before taxes including allowances) plus excellent secondary benefits (see below)
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Important: You should be living in the Netherlands
We are a highly collaborative and international IT Engineering team seeking a new colleague to join us. You will be part of a unique, not-for-profit organisation that has a significant impact on the core of the Internet. If you value team players and collaboration and you are passionate about IT Engineering and infrastructure (Linux OS, storage and network systems), then this is the job for you.
🧠 What You Will be Doing:
You will join our engineering team, deploying and maintaining IT services, servers and infrastructure. Your job will include tasks like:
Maintain and deploy infrastructure components, Linux-based systems (Redhat-based, managed with SaltStack) and (containerised) applications, using GitOps principles
Maintain and optimise our virtualisation platform
Troubleshoot performance issues with the infrastructure
Set up and maintain robust monitoring, and centralised logging for all infrastructure components and applications
After six months in the IT department, you will participate in our 24/7 standby rotation - shifts are one week every 6-8 weeks, depending on team size (compensated on top of your salary)
Job requirements
👀 What We're Looking For:
Master’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer science, Software Engineering (or similar)
Communication: Fluent written and spoken English
Embracing change: Eagerness to keep learning and a willingness to adapt
Team player: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Extensive experience as a system and network engineer
Experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting containerised applications.
Experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers and services.
Experience with Infrastructure As Code (Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, etc.)

Home office furniture budget for a healthy, ARBO proof work setup at home.

👥 The IT Engineering Team
We are an international team of 10 highly motivated engineers who love our craft. We are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure for most of the RIPE NCC's services. We work in an Agile environment and rely on good communication and collaboration within our team and organisation.
