Job description
Hybrid: From our office at Amsterdam Central Station and from home
Total salary: Up to 98.000 EUR (before taxes including allowances) plus excellent secondary benefits (see below)
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
IMPORTANT: You should be living in the Netherlands or willing to relocate
Within the Technology department at the RIPE NCC, we are looking for a Technical Risk and Compliance professional to help embed risk management and compliance into engineering workflows in a scalable, automated way that aligns with how teams build and operate systems.
A key part of your role will be making evidence gathering, control execution, and audit readiness practical and lightweight for engineers. You will translate compliance requirements into workflows that fit naturally into CI/CD environments. Our ideal candidate is someone who understands engineering contexts and can turn compliance into practical processes that teams can adopt. You bring a hands-on, pragmatic approach and are able to work comfortably and effectively with auditors while staying grounded in engineering realities.
🧠 What You Will Be Doing:
Support engineering teams in identifying, assessing, and managing technical and operational risks
Gather, structure, and maintain a clear overview of the technology risk landscape and ownership
Ensure risk mitigation plans are defined, tracked, and executed effectively
Translate compliance frameworks (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001) into practical engineering processes
Improve control effectiveness by simplifying, standardizing, and automating controls
Build scalable and repeatable processes for audit evidence gathering and act as first point of contact for auditors
Implement continuous monitoring and automation of controls within CI/CD and infrastructure workflows
Act as the bridge between Engineering, Risk & Compliance, and external auditors
We would also appreciate:
Experience supporting audits from within an engineering or platform team
A pragmatic mindset and the ability to challenge ineffective or overly complex controls
Experience automating controls and evidence collection in cloud-native environments
Job requirements
👀 What We're Looking For:
5–8 years of experience in IT, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, with experience in risk, security, or compliance
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP), and Infrastructure as Code
Hands-on experience with access control, identity management, logging, and monitoring
Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical engineering implementations
Experience with SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with engineers and auditors
📢What You Can Expect From Us:
Part of our pay policy is that we offer attractive total remuneration. While some companies may offer higher base salaries, at the RIPE NCC we take pride in offering outstanding secondary benefits that truly set us apart. A generous education budget of €2,250 per year so you can keep learning and developing your skills

An annual health budget of €750 gross that you can spend on sport classes, a mindfulness course, a chair massage, etc.
